At the beginning of 2023 in Ukraine, the total number of employees in the web development sector was more than 92 thousand people. In just six months, this number decreased by more than 6 thousand specialists. The military conflict that began in 2022 is accompanied by a global economic recession.
Planetary processes associated with global finance are in themselves a difficult situation in finding ways to sell goods and services. If other negative factors are added to this, then this inevitably leads to castling in different spheres of the life of the state. Sometimes such changes are critical. History still remembers that the mass immigration of educated people was one of the factors in the collapse of the USSR.
The military action exacerbated the effect of the global economic recession on the country. The combination of these factors led to the fact that the Ukrainian IT sector began to receive fewer orders than before. However, even against this background, positive dynamics can be observed. Of the fifty IT companies, 15 were able to improve their performance and employ specialists. More than half of them are related to the food sector.
In the summer of 2023, more than 4 thousand IT specialists are serving in the ranks of the Ukrainian Military Forces. The total number of web workers is more than 300 thousand people of both sexes. Half of them are liable for military service. Potential customers want to receive guarantees of deadlines for completing work, and the political situation is pushing them to take a more cautious approach when choosing contractors. Therefore, it is important for them to know that the professionals working on the project will not be mobilized.
This requirement is a matter of national gravity, since the state receives significant foreign exchange income from the execution of foreign orders. In addition, our own economy also needs the stable operation of the software industry.
